A livery cab driver was shot while on-duty in Soundview early Saturday morning.
It happened around 1 a.m. near Morrison and Westchester avenues.
After exiting the car, the passenger announced a stickup and then according to the New York Post fired seven shots at the driver who was struck in the leg and torso.
The passenger took off with the driver's wallet and $23.
The driver was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and is currently listed as being in critical but stable condition.
Police are investigating surveillance footage in the area.
