Bronx barber paves way for industry standards, caters to celebs

A Bronx barber is paving the way for industry standards while even catering to some celebrities.
Todd Bernard's interest in cutting hair started back in Trinidad in Tobago, but it wasn't until he moved to New York as a teen and landed a job at a barber shop that his experience began.
Now the Bronx resident is paving the way for the future of the industry with his own ideas.
Bernard's Mt. Vernon shop, ICUTPRO is setting the industry standards, he says.
Last year he even launched a subscription-based online "academy" with video tutorials to train other barbers.
His customers come to him for quality and an array of high-end options, with everything from custom fades to color enhancement and even beard therapy.
Bernard's skills have caught the attention of some high-profile clients like R&B artist RL and former NFL player Nate Burleson.
He says he hopes to franchise his shop in the future.
