PELHAM BAY -

Wake services were held Thursday for a Cardinal Spellman High School cheerleading coach who was killed in a weekend crash.

Police say 44-year-old Michelle Muccio was driving on I-95 South in Baychester around 11:30 p.m. last Saturday when she was cut off by a car near Exit 11. Muccio swerved to get out of the way, causing her SUV to roll. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 16-year-old daughter, who was in the SUV, suffered minor injuries.

Dozens went to the Ralph Giordano Funeral Home on Crosby Avenue Thursday to pay their respects. The varsity cheerleading coach grew up just a few blocks from there.

Muccio is survived by a husband and three daughters.

Police are still investigating the crash. No arrests have been made.
