Bronx church re-enacts Palm Sunday

Members at Christ Church of Riverdale re-enacted the meaning of Palm Sunday.
Pastor Andrew Butler tells News 12 that the parishioners honor the day by carrying palms and using them as part of the service.
"The re-enacting of it and using our bodies and walking and not just sitting in church but getting up and being active," he said.
The day marks the start of Holy Week. It commemorates Jesus' precession into Jerusalem. He arrived to cheering crowds waving palm branches in the days before his crucifixion.
"Palm Sunday celebrates the best in all Christians and as a Christian, this is where I want to be, where I need to be," one parishioner said.
The church will a host holiday vigil Saturday night and a community-focused Easter celebration on Sunday.
