Two men are on trial in connection to the killing of an Army veteran from the Wakefield section of the Bronx.
Carlos Velez and Luis Charbonier are being tried together in the March 2015 shooting death of 33-year-old Jason Allwood.
Prosecutors say Allwood stepped in to help a man who was being viscously beaten in a bar on White Plains Road. Velez, the victim’s brother, was allegedly told that Allwood was his brother's attacker. Allwood was shot in the chest and pistol-whipped.
Tuesday marked the third week of testimony in the trial, which is expected to last another week.
Both men face 25 years to life in prison if convicted of murder.
