A program at a Bronx public school is helping students get into the high school of their dreams.
P.S. 218 Hernandez Dual Language Magne in the Bronx has helped students through Project Step.
Project Step aims to help sixth- and eighth-graders moving on to high school and is organized by the non-profit group Women's Housing and Economic Development Corporation.
The 125 students participating in the program get one-on-one sessions to prepare them for the New York City Specialized High School Admissions test.
Organizers of the program say last year, 70 percent of students in the program were accepted into top performing city high schools.
