Community members, elected officials and members of the NYPD held a forum Tuesday night to talk about public safety in the Bronx.
Congressman Adriano Espaillat hosted the Bronx Public Safety forum and invited the Bronx district attorney, Bronx borough president and other elected officials to stand beside him and address the community. Together, they discussed current safety concerns and new initiatives coming to the city.
One of these initiatives is the effort of community policing and building relationships between residents and police officers. They believe this will build a better community and address more quality-of-life issues throughout the borough.
Residents were also encouraged to ask questions and give insight into problems within their community.
