Students learn about trucks at NY Institute for Special Education

Dozens of students learned about big trucks Thursday at the New York Institute for Special Education.
Students got a chance to experience vehicles first hand, including police cars, trucks and ambulances.
During the month of April, the institute hosts a transportation program where children can learn about the vehicles in their community.
The program has been running for over 15 years with the idea to familiarize the students with the sights and sounds of different trucks so they're not as scared of them.
Firefighters and police officers were also at the event to discuss their vehicles.
