MORRIS HEIGHTS -

Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in the fatal weekend stabbing of another boy of the same age near 181st Street and Grand Avenue.

Alijay Morgan, also 16, was attacked on a basketball court, police say. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with two stab wounds to the chest Sunday night, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have identified the suspect as Mohammed Fadika. He faces charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say there was a dispute between Morgan and three men. Morgan's mother told the New York Daily News that her son was killed trying to protect his 13-year-old brother from bullies.
