Hateful graffiti on East Tremont post office covered

The letters “KKK” that had been scrawled on the side of an East Tremont Avenue post office were covered with red paint this week, according to the U.S. Postal Service.
Some people told News 12 that the hateful graffiti had been up for months.
Police say no criminal complaint was ever reported, but the incident has sparked lots of reactions from the community.
Kiana Reliford said, “They covered it up but they didn't cover it up right. And it was wrong whoever wrote the KKK. This neighborhood is filled with different, all type of races.”
The postal service told News 12 that it is working to restore the wall to its original state as soon as possible.
