Fire department dedicates new truck to fallen lieutenant

The North Patchogue Fire Department christened its brand new truck at the department Sunday and dedicated it to a resident who died in Afghanistan in 2005.
The truck was dedicating to North Patchogue residents and U.S. Navy Seal Lt. Michael Murphy.
"The fire truck not only bears his image, but bears a Navy Seal image, and his Medal of Honor. And hopefully will keep the citizens of North Patchogue safe, said Dan Murphy, Michael Murphy's father.
Fire officials say when it came time to get a new truck for the department, they wanted to dedicate it to their hometown hero.
The fire truck is the first of its kind to come to Suffolk County. It's a multi-purpose truck able to respond to fires, ladder rescues and car crashes.
Fire officials say it's taken a couple of years to get, but the new truck will be be ready to roll in about a month's time with Lt. Murphy's picture on its side.
Murphy's heroic sacrifice is depicted in the Mark Wahlberg movie "Lone Survivor."
