Police ID suspect accused of stabbing girlfriend, killing her fetus

Police have identified the suspect who is accused of stabbing a woman multiple times and killing her fetus.

Police say Oscar Alvarez, 30, is accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend Livia Abreu multiple times in the torso after a dispute. 

First responders transported the woman to Lincoln Hospital, where the fetus was pronounced dead. Investigators say Abreu was in her third trimester.

Abreu, 30, remains in critical condition.

Alvarez is now facing murder and assault charges as well as criminal possession of a weapon.
