#N12BK: Harvey Weinstein turns self into NYPD

Harvey Weinstein Friday turned himself into the NYPD shortly before he was charged with rape and a criminal sex act in the first criminal prosecution to result from the wave of allegations against him that sparked a national reckoning over sexual misconduct.
He was walked out of the police precinct in handcuffs and appeared before a judge.
Weinstein's attorney Benjamin Brafman spoke outside the courthouse Friday.
"Mr. Weinstein will enter a plea of not guilty," Brafman announced.
The New York Times exposed three decades of alleged sexual misconduct last year.
More than 80 women have accused Weinstein of sexual abuse, rape or assault.
He was released on $1 million bail and turned over his passport. Police say he will be equipped with a tracking bracelet. Weinstein will return to court on July 30.
