Medical examiner: Stamford woman died of 'sharp force injuries'

A Stamford woman found dead in her Hycliff Terrace home on Monday died from "sharp force injuries" to her neck and extremities, according to the state medical examiner.
Police say 74-year-old Eden Claxton's husband Allen made the 911 call and was taken to the hospital. He was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening and has since been released.
To determine what exactly happened, police say they are combing through evidence, possible videos and speaking with witnesses, including the victim's husband, who they say is cooperating to an extent.
Police say they believe Claxton's death is an isolated incident and there is no public threat.
This marks Stamford's second homicide within a month. The city had gone about 18 months without a homicide.
