Residents flocked for food, music at 10th annual Fair at the Square

Thousands of people showed up for the 10th annual Fair at the Square in the Bronx.
Organizers say the Westchester Square event is a way to bring the community together and to have neighborhoods know more about the merchants in their neighborhood. They say almost every vendor in the area participated this year.
Games and activities were also free for kids who attended. Families also had the opportunity to eat, drink and listen to music from a variety of different performers.
"It's safe, it's fun, it's an emotion for the merchants, it's an emotion for the residents because they get to have a great time right in their backyard," said organizer Lisa Soren.
In the past decade, the fair has grown from just two blocks to a quarter of a mile.
