THE BRONX -

Police say an 18-year-old is dead after a possible accidental shooting Saturday.

Officers found Robert Williams with a gunshot wound to the chest just after 5 p.m. on Watson and Ward avenues.

He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Reports say he lost control of his friend's gun and accidentally shot himself. Police have not yet confirmed any details, but they do say it’s not believed to be a homicide.

Williams’ friends lit candles at a memorial for him. They tell News 12 he just graduated high school and was well-liked in the neighborhood.

No arrests have been made and the NYPD is still investigating this case.
