Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia hosted a celebrity softball game at Yankee Stadium Thursday night to benefit Sabathia’s PitCCH In Foundation.
Highlights of the evening included an opening ceremony, a celebrity DJ and a silent auction.
The PitCCH In Foundation hosts initiatives throughout the year in the New York tri-state area and Sabathia's hometown in California to empower children through education and sports.
Sabathia and many of his Yankee teammates were in attendance and made their grand entrance on the event’s red carpet. Other stars from the Bronx, including comedy duo Desus and Mero and former New York Jets player Willie Colon, were in attendance.
Sabathia and outfielder Giancarlo Stanton served as managers for the game, and many Yankees players served coaching roles.
All of the players on the field wore a patch with the initials “LGF” in honor and memory of Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, the Bronx teen brutally murdered a week ago outside of a bodega.
