Massoud Brothers among the city’s best athletes

Posted: Updated:
THE BRONX -

Two of the city's best high school athletes both growing up in the same household.

Brothers Ismael and Sofian Massoud are each nationally ranked recruits, but in different sports.

Sofian is going into his junior year as the quarterback for the Cardinal Hayes football team. Ismael meanwhile, plays basketball at the MacDuffie School in Massachusetts since transferring after his freshman season at Cardinal Hayes.

Even though they are in different states during the year, the brothers still lean on each other a lot - especially when it comes to college recruiting. "We always make sure we talk to each other about which one got offers and stuff like that. Both of us are blessed to have coaches around us that help support us and help us just maneuver through all this hype and stuff," says Ismael.

While they say it's not the deciding factor, Sofian and Ismael do say they've thought about what it would be like if they both end up at the same college.
