VAN NEST -

Police say a fake pipe bomb was discovered Wednesday in Van Nest, causing residents to evacuate.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious device at 1610 Taylor Ave. around 3 p.m. People were immediately asked to leave the area.

Witnesses say they waited for an hour as dozens of police, firefighters and investigators raided the home. Some say they watched a man being taken out of it.

The bomb squad removed what looked like a black suitcase from the home.

Police took in a man for questioning, but no arrests have been made at this point.
