Bronx men start ‘Junior’s Law’ petition

Two Bronx men started a petition that would require businesses owners to provide refuge and call police if they see a young person in danger.
Luis Torres, an educator and community activist, and his friend David Aviles felt compelled to do something after the stabbing death of 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, also known as Junior.
"The reality is people want it to stop,” says Torres. “We can't continue to have parents burying their children.”

According to several law experts, there is no law of this kind in New York City, but over 100,000 people that have signed the petition agree that there should be.
The law would also mandate that local businesses require training in first aid.
The duo hopes to continue to bring attention to the petition  with the help of elected officials, who are working to write up a law by next week.
