A young designer is stitching his dreams together with a flair for fashion and a passion for empowerment.
It wasn't too long ago that 19-year-old Edwin Reyes decided to chase his dreams as an aspiring fashionista.
Now, he is planning to showcase his very own brand at his latest fashion pop-up shop on July 12 at Charlie’s Bar and Kitchen.
The Hunts Point native created his brand "Fine by Edwin Reyes” last year to make women feel empowered and beautiful.
Reyes strives to make clothing for women of all shapes and sizes, using women of color as his models.
He says his hardworking mother inspired him and says he wants to use his love for fashion as a platform for social justice to support equality and oppose bigotry.
“I want women to know that if they feel they are in need, someone is there,” says Reyes.
Reyes say he plans to hold another event to benefit Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico.
He tells News 12 his dream is to design for the celebrities like Cardi B and Jennifer Lopez.
