Teen charged in Bronx Park attempted rape

THE BRONX -

A 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection to an attempted rape inside of a Bronx park, police say.

The incident happened Monday morning inside of Bronx River Forest park. 

A 35-year-old woman was running in the park when the suspect approached her from behind, placed his hand over her mouth and his arm across her chest and tried to pull her backward. The woman was able to get away.

The woman apparently came across the suspect again and was able to take a picture which she sent to police.

Police say the suspect, a 14-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted rape and harassment.
