New ‘slam dunk’ trash cans unveiled at Bronx parks

THE BRONX -

Officials are hoping new trash cans rolled out to parks and playgrounds around the Bronx will help residents “slam dunk” litter.

The 100 new garbage cans resemble a basketball hoop and netting.

Council Member Andy King worked with Parks and the Department of Sanitation to make the new trash cans a reality.

King was on hand Thursday at Haffen Park where improved basketball courts were also unveiled.
