THE BRONX -

A miniature museum inside of a New York City hospital is capturing the minds of many who would not expect it to be there.

The 'Smallest Mollusk' museum is located inside of  NYC Health + Hospitals Lincoln Hospital.

Amanda Schochet, the co-founder of the museum, says the exhibit shows the journey of invertebrates like octopuses, squids and snails.

The miniature kiosk includes 15 natural history exhibits featuring videos, sculptures, optical illusions and even a hologram.

Organizers say MICRO, the company that created the exhibit is a non-profit group supported by Science Sandbox, an initiative of the Simons Foundation.

Milton Nunez, CEO of Lincoln Hospital, says it's a great piece of science and a really great interactive set up.

"Patients love it, visitors love it and the kids love it," Nunez says.

Schochet says an interesting fact the museum teaches is that it would take a snail to produce a liter of slime in order to crawl across the Brooklyn Bridge.
