Charter school works to prevent 'summer slide'

Students at the Bronx Charter School for the Arts are continuing to learn during their break to prevent what's called the "summer slide."
Educators say it's not uncommon during the summer months for kids to forget some of what they previously learned in the classroom.
The charter school offers grades K through five a refresher course to keep them on track and to prevent them from falling behind academically.
Educators say parents can do simple things like reading with their kids to prevent them from sliding back during the break. They also recommend that parents enroll their child in a reading club and limit the amount of time they spend playing video games or watching TV.
