Program helps prepare diabetics for summer season

A program at a Brooklyn hospital is helping diabetics manage their blood sugar during the summer season.
The Diabetes Self-Management and Prevention Program is located at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County.
Officials say the program helps teach patients about proper hydration, controlling blood pressure, reducing A1C blood glucose levels, and promoting healthy eating.
Pre-diabetic patients learn skills to prevent diabetes.
The program is available to New York City residents with a referral from their doctor.
