Police make arrest in murder of Paterson restaurant owner

A Paterson 17-year-old is facing charges for the deadly shooting of a Chinese restaurant owner last week.
Authorities say that the teen attempted to rob 29-year-old Rui Zhou and his wife in the early morning hours of July 26, as the couple was making the last food delivery for their restaurant Ming’s Kitchen in Paterson. Zhou tried to drive away, and police say the teen opened fire on the vehicle, striking Zhou.
Zhou crashed his car a short distance away and was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. His wife was not injured in the shooting or the crash.
The teen was arrested the following day. His name has not been released due to his age. He is facing several charges, including murder and robbery. He is expected to appear before a judge Tuesday.
