Bronx Green Menu Initiative kicks off during Restaurant Week

Posted: Updated:
THE BRONX -

A group of local eateries have teamed up to encourage healthy dining choices as part of Restaurant Week.

About 20 restaurants have joined the Bronx Green Menu Initiative.

It’s the second phase of the “Bronx Salad," which was created three years ago in response to the Bronx ranking as one of the unhealthiest counties in the state.

Advocates say the initiative is geared toward long-term solutions to help promote healthy food options.

Organizers say since promoting healthier dining options, they are seeing an overall change in what people order on the menu.
