Kids with diabetes learn about healthy living

Parents and their children gathered at the Bronx Zoo Tuesday to get information about the latest diabetes treatment technology and ways to live with the disease.
Montefiore Medical Center hosted the free event that also taught about healthy snack alternatives and provided kids with arts and crafts.
Former MLB pitcher Jason Johnson, who's diabetic, made an appearance. He played professionally for 11 years while wearing an insulin pump on the field.
More than 30 million Americans have diabetes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
