A Bronx filmmaker created his own film festival with the goal of showing borough residents that they can follow a similar path.
Luis Miranda, also known as "Macho," has been making films since age 6, using toys and his mother's camera. His films have been shown across the city, and now he'll be hosting his Concourse Film Festival this weekend at The Point in Hunts Point.
This Saturday, there will be food, pop-up shops and, of course, films. One that will be shown is a horror flick called "School of the Dead," which was entirely put together by students with Miranda's guidance.
Another is Miranda's own short film, called "That One Day," which puts a spotlight on domestic violence.
