The campus of Monroe College is taking the time to celebrate and honor Africa.

The organization, Parti National Pan Africain, hosted Saturday’s event which featured a number of performances and guest speakers.

The event focused on African-centric issues and U.S. support.

Organizers say the event is also a way to bridge the gap between family members here and abroad.
