News 12 gets a behind-the-scenes look at a tattoo convention

News 12 Joanna Hernandez visited a tattoo convention, where artists from around the country came together to show off their different types of tattoo styles.
Hernandez headed to Brooklyn for a Tattoo Expo hosted by artist Sneaky Gee. He says he was excited to bring tattoo artists from around the world into one space.
“We have artists coming from Hawaii, there are a lot of local artists from Brooklyn, all around New York. We’re a Los Angeles-based company, so there’s a big presence of artists from there,” Sneaky Gee says.
Many artists who Hernandez spoke with say a convention is a space where they can showcase their style and learn from other artists.
"Tattoos were looked at in a bad way, but a lot of pieces nowadays have a lot of meaning. People are getting portraits of people who passed away...Sometimes an artist can put stuff together and tell a specific story for that tattoo," says Sneaky Gee
