4 Bronx libraries to receive extra funding

Some libraries in the Bronx are going to receive new funding by the end of the year.
The Morris Park, Pelham Parkway-Van Nest, Allerton and Mosholu libraries will each be receiving $15,000. The money will come from Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernandez's discretionary budget.
Fernandez says when she was elected earlier this year, the first places she thought deserved additional spending money were the local libraries.
Library employees are excited about the different ways they can spend the extra funds.
"We're trying to create an in-between space for the tweens," says Mosholu Library worker David Nochimson. "Where they can make it their own and graduate up towards the other parts of the library."
Librarians say this money also means helping to promote and update their digital services, something they say makes a huge difference for children.
Each library should have access to the funds by the end of the year.
