New treatment offered at St. Barnabas Hospital may be able to change the lives of some asthma sufferers.

Asthma rates in the Bronx are among the highest in the country.

St. Barnabas' biologic therapy treatment involves injections every three weeks. It was the first time that any asthma treatment had worked for 9-year-old Alannah Garcia, who's been hospitalized multiple times for her asthma.

She now has the energy to play with her siblings and not be held back in school.
