Boogie Down Bites: Mama G African Kitchen

Posted: Updated:
THE BRONX -

A West African restaurant is serving up authentic and traditional dishes in the Bronx.

Mama G African Kitchen has two locations in the Bronx and has been open for about four years.

Staying true to their roots in Ghana, owners Mama G and husband Christopher say from the African printed cloth decor to the authentic food, they offer an authentic experience.

They say their goal is to introduce customers to African food like Banku— a Ghanaian of cooked fermented corn and cassava dough.

Banku is typically served with soup, stew or a pepper sauce with fish.
