Hot temps continue into September

The unofficial end of summer may be in the past, but the hot temperatures remained on Tuesday.
A citywide heat advisory had been issued, and cooling centers were open.
Other methods of keeping cool, according to residents who spoke with News 12, include staying hydrated with ice-cold water, avoiding too much movement when outdoors and basking in the air conditioning. They urged people to check on the elderly or residents without air conditioning.
With a high UV index on Tuesday, sunscreen was highly recommended.
