Posted: Updated:
THE BRONX -

Bronx residents were doing whatever they could to stay cool in the midst of the unrelenting heat.

Cooling centers at libraries and community centers remained open across the city as temperatures continued to soar despite the unofficial end to summer.

"I like to wear sweaters, sweatpants, Uggs," said Autumn Foster. "Fall is like the best weather."

Temperatures are expected to cool down for the weekend.
