#N12BX: 17 years since Sept. 11

Nearly 3,000 lost their lives in the Sept. 11 attacks 17 years ago.

The city paused Tuesday to honor each person.

The annual commemoration ceremony takes place at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at Ground Zero each year. Each name is read by family members and friends of the victims. The readings pause to mark the time each tower was hit, the times they fell and the times planes struck the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
