A man pistol whipped another man during an attempted robbery in the Bronx, police say.

The incident happened on Sept. 1 in front of 556 Morris Ave.

The suspect approached the 53-year-old man, pulled out a gun and demanded cash.

The 53-year-old refused to hand over money and police say the suspect struck him in the head with a pistol.

Police say the suspect put the gun away, pulled out a small knife, and attempted to cut the 53-year-old.

The two men got into a brief struggle before the 53-year-old was able to run away.

Police say the same suspect is also responsible for robbing a 22-year-old man of his bicycle at gunpoint on Aug. 31 in front of 540 Bergan Ave.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
