Detective Ramos Foundation holds backpack drive

The Detective Rafael Ramos Foundation held its third backpack drive on Monday.
The nonprofit was created in honor of NYPD detectives Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, who in December 2014 were slain in their patrol car in Brooklyn.
Backpacks were handed out to kids from two schools in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.
Ramos' widow and NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill were among those in attendance.
The kids who received backpacks also got a chance to learn about the fallen officers.
More than 600 backpacks were given away this year. Organizers say they hope to double that number next year.
