Martinez avoids murder charge in death, dismemberment case

A grand jury opted not to charge Ciara Martinez with murder and manslaughter after she was arrested in connection with the death and dismemberment of Lisa Marie Velaquez.
The grand jury indicted Martinez with criminal facilitation, which is the top charge she is facing.
Martinez's boyfriend Daquan Wheeler is still charged with murder. Police believe Wheeler cut up the body of Velasquez, a friend of Martinez, and then dumped her remains in two separate parks.
Despite the murder and manslaughter charges not sticking against Martinez, the victim's family believes she is just as guilty.
Both Martinez and Wheeler are due back in court next week. Velasquez's family say they will be at every court appearance until they get justice.
