Man accused in deadly hit-and-run faces a judge

A man accused in a deadly hit-and-run crash appeared before a judge Thursday.
Paul Frischer was charged Wednesday for the Monday crash in Garfield that killed Giovanni Rivera. Rivera died Wednesday from his injuries.
Prosecutors asked the judge to require Frischer to surrender his passport. Frischer has already agreed to surrender his driver’s license.
Frischer was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and endangering an injured victim.
He has been released pending trial.
