City Councilman Ritchie Torres has a plan to team up with the Fordham Business Improvement District to clean up Fordham Plaza.

Fordham Plaza is the center of a major transportation hub, a farmers market and more, attracting thousands of people. But there are issues there that include illegal dumping, drug use and chronic homelessness.

Torres says he's partnering with the Fordham BID to fix those issues.

Residents say they hope to see the plaza become a clean and safe place.
