A boy was struck by a car while crossing a street in Melrose Wednesday, according to witnesses.

The incident happened in the area of Morris Avenue and McClellan Street.

Surveillance video from a nearby bodega shows the boy exiting a park when he was hit.

Witnesses say it was just one boy who was struck, but first responders say they rushed two people to Lincoln Medical Center.

There was no word on their condition.

According to the city's Vision Zero statistics, there were two traffic-related injuries in the past year at the intersection of Morris Avenue and McClellan Street. Going one block in each direction, that number goes up to 16.
