Dog hit in eye by glass up for unusual award

A potential catastrophe for a local dog has ended up resulting in an unusually positive twist.
The Lindenmans adopted Cheddar when he was 6 months old. Now 7 years old, he has been the victim of a few accidents.
Last summer when Cheddar was visiting Marc Lindenman's sister in New York, a piece of glass from a chandelier fell and hit him right above his eye.
Cheddar went to a nearby vet and was able to make a full recovery.
Now, the family's pet insurance provider, Nationwide, has nominated Cheddar for its Hambone of the Year award. If Cheddar wins, the animal hospital that treated him will receive $10,000.
He already won Nationwide's "Most Unusual Claim of the Month."
