Applying for college can be a stressful process, but one local school is trying to make things easier.
Fordham University says this year’s college fair has been tailored to assist every prospective college student with the process.

It says applying for federal financial aid can be tough enough, but it is even more difficult for a parent or child learning English as a second language.
Counselors were on hand assisting families in their native languages.
The New York State Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network worked with the Hispanic Federation, United Federation of Teachers, and College Goal New York to make this possible at Fordham University.
The event invited six universities straight from Puerto Rico to speak with students. An organization called One Puerto Rico says the island lost many students to the states after the hurricane and now they are trying to bring them back.

The six universities from Puerto Rico offer bachelor degrees in majors like engineering, architecture and accounting. One Puerto Rico says the price of college there is typically less than $10,000 a year.
Organizers say they are also promoting a student exchange program.
