LI man among 5 doctors accused of illegal pill distribution

Five New York doctors, including one from Franklin Square, are accused of illegally distributing millions of opioid pills.
Dr. Dante Cubangbang is among those five doctors, a nurse practitioner and a pharmacist arrested following three separate DEA investigations.
The DEA says Cubangbang and his associates distributed millions of unnecessary oxycodone pills.
Investigators say Cubangbang operated out of a Queens office.
Jeff Reynolds, CEO of the Thrive recovery center in Hauppauge, says many fail to see the negative effects of opioid pills.
If convicted, Cubangbang could serve up to 50 years in prison.
