NYPD: Man assaulted while waiting for bus in Throgs Neck

Police say a man was assaulted while waiting for the bus last month.
Police tell News 12 it happened on Sept. 24 on the corner of East Tremont and Randall avenues in Throgs Neck.
They say the suspect, who's believed to be around 18 years old, ambushed the victim, hitting him in the face with an unknown object.
He also allegedly tried to rob the 48-year-old victim but he fought him off.
Officials say the suspect fled empty-handed.
The victim was treated and released from Jacobi Medical Center for cuts to the face.
