Stray bullet shatters 11-year-old's window following argument in Mott Haven

Police are searching for answers in Mott Haven after a stray bullet shattered a young boy's bedroom window Tuesday night.
Police say a man was involved in a fight around 9:30 p.m. with another unknown man on East 148th Street.
Surveillance video shows the men walking in the street near parked cars arguing. The close call unfolded when a man with a fur covered hooded jacket hit another man on the head with his pistol, causing it to be discharged and a bullet to shatter the window of an 11-year-old boy.
Police say the suspected gunman was last seen wearing a red coat with a fur-lined hood, a black sweater, gray sweatpants and blue sneakers. He was last seen running away westbound on East 148th Street.
No one inside the residential building by East 148th Street and Saint Ann's Avenue, where the window was shot out, was injured.
Residents say they are worried and concerned because of the incident.
"It's sad that you have to fear that you're going to lose your child," says neighbor Asia Ayala. "I have two children and I'm scared to walk out of my home and get hit by a bullet."
Police are now searching for the gunman.
