A group of Riverdale neighbors says they woke up to find parking tickets on their cars Tuesday morning.
They say cars on both sides of the street at West 238th Street and Greystone Avenue had tickets on their windshields.
Cars received a $60 parking violation for obstructing construction. Residents believe the summons were issued in the early hours of the morning.
Neighbors claim that they had no advanced warning about the ticketing, and that alternative side street parking signs were taken down and replaced with no parking signs.
News 12 has learned the new construction project is being handled by Jr Cruz Construction and that new water and sewer lines will be installed on the block. The project extends from Greystone and Riverdale avenues to Manhattan College Parkway.
Although many say they're upset about being fined, they're more concerned about the time it will take to find a spot in a neighborhood where parking is limited.
